About EMU – EMU (Toshihiro Umekita) runs a small shipbuilding company along the Seto Inland Sea. Influenced by his grandfather and father, both shipbuilders, he has been interested in construction since he was a child. His father taught him his techniques on his days off, and he enjoyed making his own furniture, figurines, and toys. Later, after learning the fundamentals of design at a vocational school, he had a 20-year career as a graphic designer in Tokyo.
