ONLINE ART GALLERY | JUNE 2022 – SILVIO MILDO
The Gallery Jo Yana presents the Art Drop of the month of June 2022 – the works of the solo show TSIRAN by the French artist SILVIO MILDO – which concretizes the idea of working around the fruit that is the apricot to begin a journey on memory – his Armenian origins and roots, in order to explore an unknown side, practically set aside from himself. It is above all an introverted and personal act.
The apricot is an Armenian symbol, it is said that it is the fruit of Armenia which is the country of apricots. According to a legend that Noah, on the descent of the ark and following the floods that hit the Earth, would have replanted an apricot tree. Only this tree would have resisted in the heart of these submerged soils, the cataclysm having destroyed everything in its path.
The fascination linked to this resistance is a way for the artist to materialize the force deployed by all living things to become as strong as this tree and resist the floods of life. Ararat Valley apricots are said to be the lushest and juiciest.
